Oscars Restaurant

Who remembers Oscar's Restaurant at the corner of Sepulveda and Vose in Van Nuys. We used to eat there all the time. Seems like my Dad always ordered a Chili Size. Here is a picture of the restaurant which replaced Oscar's. I believe this is the place that had red hamburger buns.

Before my time, but when I lived nearby in the '80s, this building was a succession of banks: Westdale Savings, Lincoln Savings, and another one whose name escapes me. The large building on the left side was Merit College, a paralegal school. It closed down at some point & homeless people would congregate there. Which probably explains the fire-damaged ground floor that was noticeable for quite awhile (if not still). Thanks for posting this pic.

I worked there as a cook in '63 and '64 when I was in High school. It was a lot of fun.
