Below are rather poor pictures I took while driving by my old Elementary school

More Scans

Below is a picture of Kaiser Hospital on Woodman Ave. taken from the roof of Jane Russell's apartment building "Taos West". The year was 1976.

Below is a picture taken from inside the Hi Lo Drugstore at Sepulveda Blvd and Sherman Way in Van Nuys. The picture looks out onto the parking lot on Sepulveda. The year is 1976

Recent Scans

The past week I have been scanning a variety of materials from my family archives. Some of the scans pertinent to this blog are below. They are from my Junior High School in 1969 except for the newspaper clip:

I was in Van Nuys Demolay with Jim Jeffries in the picture above. Sadly he died in 2004. Phone Rat and I attended a memorial for him at Desconso Gardens.

Tucker Craw

How many of you remember seeing Tucker in and around Van Nuys during the 60's and 70's? I pieced together the image below from a small newspaper article online. It was all I could find about him. Thanks to Phone Rat for reminding me of Tucker.

First Cars

It did well until I plowed into the back of a car on Sepulveda Blvd in Van Nuys when a woman decided to make an illegal turn right past an intersection. I bent the key with my knee and cut open my chin on the steering wheel. My Mom was two cars behind me when it happened and was more shook up than me.

It wasn't a dignified ending for a 1966 Pontiac Le Mans. My next car was a brand new 1973 Ford Pinto. Jokes aside I liked the car even though it was dreadfully slow.
