My Father, Don Newton, managed Butler Brother stores in Ontario, Seattle, and Alhambra. I worked in the Seattle store for a few years myself. I recognize a few of the names from the Van Nuys store posted here. My Dad is living in Shingle Springs, CA now is 88 years old an in poor health, but he'd love hearing from anyone from those good old days.

Hi,
My husband's father, Bill Cox worked at Butler Brothers stores in California during the 1960's. He had lived in Pico Rivera and in Whittier. He died very young, but my husband remembers him talking about the Van Nuys store. Apparently, they usually did most of their shopping there, especially at Christmas time.

My Grandmother Madora Tucker was a seamstress at Ontario, Ca Butler Brothers in the late 60’s. I have the sweetest memories of going ng to work with her. Making bows and gift wrapping.
